Red Bull Announces Substantial 2026 Driver Roster: Hadjar Steps Up, Teenager Arvid Lindblad Secures Grand Prix Debut.

The Austrian squad has confirmed significant changes for the 2026 Grand Prix year, promoting French driver Isack Hadjar to its main squad and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive.
Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls.
This reshuffling means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid after five seasons.
Who is Arvid Lindblad?
Arvid Lindblad participated in FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year.
Lindblad has been marked out as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.
Regarding the company's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "natural quickness".
Red Bull prepared a programme for some time to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, including appearances in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.
The rookie said it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a huge step, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started."
He has won two races in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
A Major Opportunity for Hadjar
Isack Hadjar enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Dutch Grand Prix in August.
The Frenchman's debut season began in difficult fashion when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the stand-out newcomers this season.
His performances featured an outstanding top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the drivers' standings.
A senior team figure commented: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max."
The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "ready".
Tsunoda's Exit
To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda.
Lawson began the season with the senior squad but was demoted early in the year. He has found his form at the junior outfit with some strong performances, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time.
Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total.
These announcements confirm that there is also no place on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
