'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the thrilling final moments of his team's stunning fightback victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles amid the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess promptly hammered in the rebound before sprinting toward the East Stand to celebrate, with fans mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result sealed an incredible turnaround given Swansea had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. In the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

That win earned a next round game at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with the attacker's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that range," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right wing-back after the team changed tactics. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way his former team played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the basics and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they are adept at control and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're doing well and then suddenly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even seeing. You have to be switched on throughout of the game. It takes a tough attitude and concentration just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a popular figure across two seasons at his former club and has swiftly done the same in Wales. At the London club he joined forces once more with his former manager, who four years ago gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a loan at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a bit naive going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without serious challenge. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that growth for club and country, performing well for his national side, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including both legs games against Germany. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Early Days

It has been a remarkable path for the youngster from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his father, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of freezing cold. "It was a extended travel and it was chilly," he comments, smiling. "The week before, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's so-called player transport, a team vehicle driven by club employees, the drivers, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with a teammate, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to spend time with the guys but I'm aiming to be the following person out of the minibus and driving. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on public transport after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
