Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying over a crowded southern California coastline suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Videos uploaded online show the aircraft starting to spin near Huntington Beach then plunging near the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
First Aid Details
Local firefighters stated five people were rushed to the hospital including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the road were injured. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.

Officials indicated the chopper was linked to an regular “Cars with Copters” fundraising event set for the following day.
