Football Recap: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Defensive Affair
In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.
Dominant Display Seals Contest
Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following conceding a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.
The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes left.
Historic Difficulties for Jets Attack
In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult kick.
Fields struggled throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.
"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach stated after the contest.

The Los Angeles Rams ended the opening two quarters with a defensive stop and subsequently quarterback Matthew Stafford led them to two touchdowns to begin the third quarter in their 17-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Colts Continue Winning Ways
Daniel Jones passed for two scoring throws and the running back ran the decisive score with 4:32 remaining, giving the Indianapolis Colts a close win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Seahawks Control Jaguars
The quarterback threw touchdown passes to his receiver and another target, and Seattle controlled the trenches on their way to a comfortable win.
Steelers Defeat Browns
Aaron Rodgers threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers experienced little trouble in their 23-9 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
Chargers Come Back Past Dolphins
Justin Herbert escaped the defensive pressure and connected with his receiver for a 42-yard catch-and-run in the final minute, leading to the kicker's game-winning kick to give the Los Angeles Chargers a 29-27 win.
Patriots Defeat Saints
Drake Maye passed for 261 yards and three scores as the road New England Patriots beat the New Orleans Saints 25-19.
