Citizens throughout all 50 American states will mobilize to protest over the weekend, joined by a common theme: America is descending into authoritarianism and there should be no monarchs in America.
Countless participants are anticipated to take part in these anti-monarchy demonstrations, marking the second occurrence for this coalition that earlier marched during one of the largest demonstration days ever recorded in the US. Rallies are planned across over 2,700 locations, from small towns to metropolitan hubs.
The existing leader has taken action across urban centers, trying to deploy federal troops and adding enforcement officers. The administration is seeking to criminalize protest, going after left-leaning entities which are accused of abetting extremism or civil unrest. Cities have mostly resisted, filing lawsuits to block national guard interventions, and locals have hit to public spaces to protest against the militarization in their neighborhoods.
Supporters of the administration have tried to cast the No Kings demonstrations as hostile to the nation and driven by antifa, the loosely organized anti-fascist movement, while also claiming that the rallies are extending the political deadlock. One state governor has stated he will deploy the state’s militia to the capital ahead of the events.
Several politicians, including senators from the the left and unaffiliated affiliations, are expected to join the rallies. This anti-authoritarian coalition has repeatedly stressed its devotion to civil resistance, with many thousands of participants have trained on security and de-escalation tactics.
“What’s most important for participants to uphold is that the president expects people to feel fear, but we will not be pressured into silence and silence,” said an organizer from a participating organization. “Furthermore, it’s extremely crucial for participants to stay calm, to hold their heads high and to say their beliefs, without being frightened by that fear.”
Over 200 organizations have joined as supporters supporting the October demonstrations. Coordinators have identified multiple anchor cities: such as the nation's capital, San Francisco, San Diego, ATL, NYC, Texas, Honolulu, Massachusetts, KC, Big Sky country, Illinois Louisiana.
The simple message of these actions emphasizes that America opposes authoritarian rule, a criticism at the president’s increasing dictatorship. Included in the themes coordinators have emphasized are:
The June anti-authoritarian demonstrations attracted countless participants across the nation, according to tallies indicating that around a huge number people took part in actions at in excess of 2,000 locations in what was likely the second-largest 24-hour demonstration since the leader was inaugurated in January 2017”, exceeded only by a prior large-scale event in 2017.
