Kyoto Animation has forged a reputation for being an prestigious animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the superb artistry of its work but for the fair treatment of its employees—a rarity in the industry. Unexpectedly, until now, it had never worked on an anime stemming from a manga published in Shonen Jump, perhaps the most famous magazine in the business. Ruri Dragon will break that tradition, and what a great choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo became massive popularity when it launched in 2022 after just a few chapters, but then went into a two-year hiatus due to the creator's health issues. When it came back with a lighter schedule, the series proved it hadn't lost the fans' appreciation and enthusiasm, and now fans are thrilled about the upcoming KyoAni adaptation.
The Kingdom Series Season 6 Will Get a Sequel Now in the Works
Kingdom is the highly popular, epic Shueisha manga that is aside from One Piece. If you've haven't come across it before, it's because it only just received an English localization, but the anime has been airing for some time, and its sixth season was yet another stellar entry. Apparently that was just the initial batch, because a "sequel" has been announced as currently being made, and it will probably premiere in 2026.
Science Saru Is Bringing A Witch in Mongolia To Anime
A further studio renowned for the superior craftsmanship of its projects, Science Saru has delivered hit shows of the quality of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, lastly, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be taking on the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, which is based on the true story of Fatima, an powerful woman and intellectual in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. From the trailer, the anime named Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a truly original and captivating visual style, which is somewhat reminiscent of Ranking of Kings. Set to premiere in July 2026, this one will definitely be on my watchlist.
The Tougen Anki Series Will Return With a Second Season
Immediately following the release of its twenty-fourth episode, it was revealed that Tougen Anki will be securing a second season. Inspired by the Japanese legend of Momotaro, Tougen Anki adapts the manga by Yura Urushibara. The second season of the anime will cover the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, but a concrete release date has yet to be revealed.
